The Texas Witch – Pre Production Interview

I got really excited when I found out there was a witch movie that is about to be made just a few miles from me, down in Jacksonville, TX.

I reached out to them to do this pre-production interview for the blog about an independent film called “The Texas Witch“.

Legend has it a witch haunts the forbidden territories of a Jacksonville forest killing anyone who dares to enter. When Piper Strickland’s brother Jason goes missing in the forest, she and her three friends decide to go in and search for him.

Do you love scary movies, whether it be the basic killing type of horror movie, the paranormal or the creepy witch movies?

I have seen my share of all of types of scary moves, the paranormal fascinates me, I use to be a paranormal investigator.

BUT witch movies, now these scare me but just like the others, I love to watch a few of them.

Q: What is your name and position pertaining to the movie “The Texas Witch”?

A: Andrew Evans and Gianna Lutz Producers

Q: How did the movie “The Texas Witch” come about?

A: Gianna and Andrew are naturally a good team and wanted to make a movie because that’s our passion. We kicked around ideas and decided to go with something that had a location people could find and look at. A movie about a witch has been done before and so we didn’t want to make it a “typical” witch movie so it will feel really different.

Q: How did you go about choosing Jacksonville, TX and the location as the place to film this movie?

A: Jacksonville, TX is full of interesting history and has a few stories about a witch in the area. Also the community was very supportive when we were in the process of looking for filming locations.

Q: Has there ever been any past projects done in or near this area?

A: East Texas has had movies filmed in the area but Jacksonville directly I’m not sure about. But I can promise you we will film again in Jacksonville and they will grow with us.

Q: How do local homes and/or businesses get in on being apart of this movie?

Q: What phase is the movie in now and when will it be in full production?

A: We are in preproduction right now but will be in full production June 1st, 2021.

Q: Are there any local or national actors and if so, what is their name the part they play in the movie?

A: Neal Mccoy, Justin Biltonen, Andrea KGB Lee and Swayde Mccoy are the most noticeable names.

Q: Will you be looking for background extras and if so, how will you go about looking for them?

A: We will and we will post on our social media pages when we need the to submit for the roles.

Q: What is the expected release date?

A: Sometime in 2022.

Q: Once released, how can someone go about watching this move?

A: It will be on the major streaming sites also on DVD.
