20 Things To Do When You’re Stuck at Home

If you are stuck at home (which I am sure you are right now) and your bored and looking for things to do, here is a list of things to do when you’re stuck at home.

I understand that it can be pretty boring at home if you are having to stay there for any length of time (for whatever reason), like most of us are doing now.

What do you do when it happens?

Well, whether you have kids or not (I do not have any at home) get creative because the possibilities are endless.

20 Things To Do When You’re Stuck at Home

Learn Wood Crafting

This is something that I use to do years ago and I loved it.

There are so many things you can make (or learn to make) such as frames, tables, shelves and so much more.

Take Online Classes

Have you been wanting to take some classes to further your education or just to learn something new?

Online classes are where it’s at now and since you have the time now (maybe), get online and search for classes that you are interested in and get after it.

Start A Puzzle

This use be one of my favorite things to do when I was bored, ya know before the Internet. I miss it. I am thinking about starting again soon.

Puzzles can be fun and rewarding. You can even glue them and frame them when done.

Spring Clean The House

Do you need to get the Spring cleaning done? I am pretty sure this is one of those things that most people start doing anyways when they are bored at home.

Things you can do

  • Clean out the kitchen and bathroom drawers
  • Clean out the kitchen and bathroom room cabinets
  • Rearrange (if you want) and vacuum/mop the whole house
  • Clean all the appliances
  • Clean and wipe down all of the furniture
  • Organize your home office (if you have one)
  • Clean and get your yard ready for Spring and Summer
  • Organize your closets and donate what you no longer want

If you haven’t started but need to, get with it. When you are done, it will make you feel so much better.

Read Books

If you love to read, now is a good time to find some books that you have been wanting to read but never had the time.

Also is now a good time to get into reading if it’s something that you never thought you would like to do.

Time goes by fast when your into a good book and it’s also relaxing. I know I need to do more of it.

Start A Blog

Now this is something that I do everyday, especially when I am bored at home. You’re reading my blog right now.

If you love writing and have hobbies or anything else that you like to write about, then you need to blog.

Even if you are not a writer and want to try, you can do it. I hated writing and was never good at it but started a blog and it just took off from there (still not good at it but it’s fun).

You can even make money doing along with having something to do when you need things to do when you’re stuck at home.

One of my favorite things to do because I am a crafter and diy’er. Always changing the look by season or holiday.

Decorating or redecorating can be fun. If you have been wanting to do it, start now while you have plenty of time.

Start A Garden

Lot’s of people are already planting there gardens because it’s what they normally do but if you have been wanting to start one, now is the time.

Spring Garden Ideas

  • Leafy Greens
  • Alliums
  • Garlic
  • Peas and Beans
  • Broccoli and Cauliflower
  • Cabbage
  • Root Vegetables
  • Herbs
  • Salad Leaves
  • Asparagus and Artichokes

Learn To Play An Instrument

Have you ever wanted to learn how to play an instrument?

Find/Purchase an instrument that you would like to learn how to play and watch some videos on YouTube or find some online classes.

Create A Vision Board

I tried to start a vision board once but not having a lot of time back then, I didn’t keep it up.

A vision board is something you can do on poster board or on your computer.

If on a poster board, cut out things in a magazine or whatever you have that you would like to have or accomplish someday and tape/glue them on.

It’s like setting goals for yourself. I will be starting another one soon.

If you’re bored, stressed and just need to relax, you might need to consider some quiet time, alone and meditate.

Get your head and health together in this stressful time because you are stuck at home.

Ease your mind and you will feel better.

So many people are into working out or just exercising but so many others never could find the time to get started or keep it going.

If you are looking into getting into shape, loose weight or feel healthier, start looking into some online workout videos. There are also lots of fitness bloggers that will help you out too.

Learn A New Language

It’s never to late to learn a new language.

I have always wanted to learn Spanish, I only know a few words at this time. I am around people all the time that speak it but I have a hard time grasping it.

I think now would be a good time to start learning it while I have more time on my hands.

What language have you always wanted to learn?

Create A Bucket List

There are always things we are wanting to do and are either too scared or don’t have the time.

Now is the time to make that list so that once you are able to leave the house, you can get started doing the things you want to do.

Learn To Sew

A little story for you:

I remember when I was in high school and I was in homemaking class. We were having to buy material and pattern to make a shirt or skirt and then wear it to class for a grade. Well…

Mine was the only one that was not wearable because I didn’t have sewing skills.

And I still don’t and do not want to try again.

If sewing is something you have wanted to learn, now would be a good time to practice, you just might amaze yourself.

Learn To Paint

I never thought I could paint, wasn’t good at that in school either.

Just recently have I decided that I wanted to learn and started watching videos and visiting artists websites.

I have recently painted two small pictures that I was proud of. One of my friends liked one of them and I gave it to her, she loves it.

Here is my most recent painting. It’s a field of flowers done only with a palette knife. Not the best but I am still learning.

No matter if you think you can paint or not, your right. Give it a try and I promise you, while you have the time and your looking for something to do, you can do it.

Do Some Home Improvement

I am pretty sure there are things around your house that need fixing or improving right?

It’s a great time right now to get started on those projects. I go many to do my self, small ones but they need to be done.

Binge Watch Movies

If you’re looking for things to do when you’re stuck at home, this will probably be what most will do. It’s relaxing and easy.

Find a good show on cable, Netflix or whatever service you normally use and cuddle up on the couch.

Learn To Draw

If you want to be an artist and painting is not your thing, then see if you can draw or at least learn to do it.

The only kinda art I can do (or want to do, basically) is painting or creating designs for t-shirts.

Learn To Cook

This one is probably the most important because if your stuck inside, well you and everyone else that might be in the home needs to eat.

Now is a good time to get out the baking or pots and pants and start digging online on how to cook or improve it (if needed).

We rarely ever eat out, I love to cook but not experimental much. I print lots of recipes online and cook at home daily. I love learning how to cook new things.

I hope this post have given you some ideas on things you can do while at home. There are so many things to do, just find some that are interested in and keep busy.
