East Texas Farmers Markets & Stands (2024)

East Texas Farmers Markets are mostly open on the weekend but there are few that are either open certain days of the week or everyday. Quiet a few of them are not only produce and plants, some, if not all, also have vendors for you to shop at.

There are times where some of these farmers markets will have live music and kids activities.

1. Lake Tyler Farmers Market

The Lake Tyler Farmers Market is located at 17106 Hwy 64E Tyler, Tx 75707. They are open Open 7 days a week Monday-Saturday and 10am-5:30pm on Sundays

2. Bluebird Farmstand

The Bluebird Farmstand (Bluebird General Store) is located at 11968 state highway 64, Tyler, TX, 75704. It’s a family owned and operated old fashioned country store located near Tyler Pounds Field Airport in Tyler Texas. Bluebird serves East Texas with wholesome dairy and farm fresh produce.

They are open from Wednesday to Sunday at 10am – 6pm. They are Tyler, Tx’s only year-round farmstand!

3. Noonday Farmers Market

The Noonday Farmers Market is located at 16662 CR-196, Tyler, TX 75703-7112.

Opening day is set for 8 a.m. to noon, June 3, at the community pavilion next to City Hall, 16662 County Road 196, adjacent to the Blue Store.

The market is scheduled to remain open each Saturday morning though the summer, and feature an array of seasonal favorites, such as potatoes, tomatoes, canned items and of course, those famous Noonday sweet onions.

It’s not too late to sign up as a vendor.

Noonday Farmers Market welcomes people wanting to sell homegrown fruits and vegetables and / or handcrafted goods. There is no cost to set up and electricity is provided.

4. Angelina County Farmer’s Market

The Angelina County Farmers Market is located at 2107 South Medford Drive , Lufkin, TX. They are open Wednesday – Saturday from 9am – 4pm. Closed: Sunday – Tuesday

They are the original Angelina County Farmers Market. Local plants, protein and produce from our farms to your tables. They love their community and they are blessed to come together to bring Angelina County residents a market focused on truly local vendors, healthy grocery options, splays of beautiful plants and a SHOP LOCAL EVERYTHING atmosphere.

5. Rose City Farmers Market

They Rose City Farmers Market is located at 302 S. Broadway Ave. Tyler, Texas. They are open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturdays from April 7 – November 17

This Farmers Market is a project of the Farm and Food Coalition, whose mission is helping create better access to fresh, locally grown food in Tyler.

They connect people with sources of locally grown foods and advocate eating locally for the health of their environment, community, culture, and economy. Through advocacy, organizing and education, They work toward a sustainable local food system that meets the needs of both producers and consumers.

6. Palestine Farmers Market

The Palestine Farmers Market is located at 813 W. Spring St. Palestine, TX 75801. Hours of Operation are every Saturday March 26-Dec 3 from 9am – 2pm. Summer Hours are June 4-Sept 3 Wednesday and Saturday from 8am – 1pm.

In 2020 they rediscovered the importance of a local food chain when their local grocery store shelves were often wiped clean of inventory. It was during this time that Market Managers, Roger and April Shaner, started dreaming about reviving the Palestine Farmers Market pavilion in Palestine’s historic Main Street district. They dreamed of a space where homesteaders, food producers, ranchers, and artisans as well as consumers gathered and shared food, products, ideas, and solutions.

7. Historic Longview Farmers Market

The Historic Longview Farmers Market is located at 105 W Cotton, Longview, TX, at the corner of High and Cotton Streets (105 W Cotton), on the site of the former Kelly Plow Works. They are open on Saturdays from 7:30am – 11:30am.

This Farmers Market was created to bring Texas produce and farm products to a central location so that a wide variety of Texas’ agriculture is easily accessible by the public.

The Historic Longview Farmers Market is a project of Preservation Longview whose mission is to restore, preserve and promote historic Longview. It’s great place to find local food, produce, art and live music!

8. Jefferson Farmers’ Market – Downtown

The Jefferson Farmers Market is located at the corner of Polk and Lafayette (across from Riverport BBQ).

They will be kicking off there season on May 27th and will be every Saturday until October 28. Hours will be 10am – 2pm.

9. Mineola Farmers Market

The Mineola Farmers Market is located at 200 West Front StMineola, TX 75773. Hours of operation is May through November and will be every Saturday from 8am – 1pm.

This Farmers Market is Locally-grown, homemade foods and some crafts, sponsored by Mineola Main Street.

10. Kilgore Farmer’s Market

The Kilgore Farmers Market is located at 100 E North Street, Kilgore, TX. Hours of operation is 8-12 on Saturdays.

This farmers market has a wide variety of fresh breads and baked goods, herbal teas, plants, BBQ sauce, jams and jellies, artisan soap, woodworking, artwork, pickles, fresh eggs, grass fed beef, and so much more!

11. Athens, TX Farmer’s Market

The Athens, TX Farmers Market is located at 100 Cardinal Dr , Athens, TX. The hours of operation are Saturdays from 9am – 1pm from May to October.

This Farmers Market is one of the biggest little market in East Texas with ALL the heart!! They have lots of vendors to check out.

12. Frankston Farmers Market

The Frankston Farmers Market is located at 159 W Railroad Avenue , Frankston, TX. The hours every Saturday, 9am-1pm, April 8th – December 16th. They accept applications year round.

A few tips for shopping at Farmers Markets

If you are new to attending Farmers Markets, here are a few tips that will hopefully help you have a great shopping experience.

• Plan Ahead – it helps to know where your parking options are located, layout of the vendors and if there will be any special events going on during that time.
• Go Early – The best stuff will usally sell out early. It’s still a good idea to go later if you have too because you want to help those farmers sell out and empty out their tables.
• Bring Bags – Some vendors may not have bags to put your things in and plus it gives you less to carry when you have your own. Also, it might be a good idea to bring a small cart or wagon if you are planning on getting lots of things.
• Bring Cash – While nowadays, most have the option to accept debit or credit cards, those fees could add up. Also, a lot of vendors could be cash-only.
• Buy in Season – Buying this way helps farmers to keep growing more food. So why not buy in bulk and fill the freezer.

Just know that shopping at Farmers Markets is rewarding and you are helping out small businesses in the East Texas area.
