Best Fall Festivals in East Texas 2026: Dates & Events

Fall is one of my favorite times to get out and explore East Texas. Once September and October roll around, small towns across the Piney Woods start filling their calendars with festivals, pumpkin patches, vendor markets, parades, carnival rides, live music and plenty of good food.

If you’re looking for fall festivals in East Texas in 2026, I’ve rounded up several worth adding to your calendar.

You’ll find events around Canton, Lindale, Edom, Marshall, Gilmer, Tyler, Mineola, Palestine and Henderson. Some are traditional fall festivals, while others are long-running East Texas celebrations that make excellent fall day trips or weekend getaways.

Important: Festival schedules, admission prices and activities can change, especially because of weather. Always check with the event organizer before making a special trip.

YesterLand Farm Fall Festival in Canton

Location: YesterLand Farm, Canton

If pumpkins, corn mazes and fall photo opportunities are what you have in mind, YesterLand Farm is one of the easiest places to turn an ordinary fall weekend into a full day of activities.

The fall season includes a pumpkin patch, corn maze, rides and attractions, farm animals, seasonal food and plenty of fall photo opportunities.

There are also special nighttime activities during parts of the season for visitors who want to stay after dark.

This is a good choice for families or anyone looking for that classic pumpkin-patch-and-fall-festival experience.

It’s also easy to combine with a Canton-area day trip.

CountryFest in Lindale

Date: October 10, 2026
Time: 8:30 a.m.–4 p.m.
Location: Downtown Lindale at Picker’s Pavilion and The Cannery Stage

CountryFest is one of Lindale’s big community celebrations and a fun way to spend a fall Saturday in East Texas.

The event takes place in Lindale’s Cannery District and typically includes a large vendor area, food, activities and entertainment throughout the day.

It’s the kind of event where you can spend a good portion of the day wandering through booths, grabbing something to eat and enjoying the atmosphere downtown.

The annual Harvest Hustle 5K and Kids 1K also take place that morning, so expect the Cannery District to be busy.

East Texas tip: Several festivals are happening on October 10 this year, including CountryFest, the Edom Art Festival and Marshall’s FireAnt Festival. Instead of trying to fit all three into one day, choose the one that best matches what you enjoy doing.

Edom Art Festival

Dates: October 10–11, 2026
Time: 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
Location: Edom

The Edom Art Festival is a great choice if your idea of a fall outing involves handmade items, local artists, food and live music rather than carnival rides.

The festival has been celebrating art in this small East Texas community for more than 50 years.

Visitors can browse pottery, jewelry, photography, sculpture, woodworking, glass, paintings, clothing, garden art and other original pieces.

You may also find artist demonstrations, food vendors, acoustic music and activities for children.

Edom is small, which is part of what makes this festival special. Give yourself time to slow down, talk with the artists and explore.

FireAnt Festival in Marshall

Date: October 10, 2026
Location: Historic Downtown Marshall

Only in East Texas could somebody look at a fire ant and decide it deserved an entire festival.

Marshall’s FireAnt Festival is one of the area’s more unusual fall traditions and brings vendors, entertainment and community activities to historic downtown Marshall.

Festival activities may include a parade, races, children’s activities, carnival rides, contests, live entertainment and plenty of food.

If you like lively downtown festivals with food, vendors, music and quirky small-town traditions, Marshall may be your October 10 pick.

East Texas Yamboree in Gilmer

Dates: October 14–17, 2026
Location: Gilmer

The East Texas Yamboree is much more than a one-day fall festival.

This longtime Gilmer tradition dates back to 1935 and celebrates the area’s agricultural heritage and the sweet potato.

The Yamboree includes several days of activities that may include a carnival, livestock shows, parades, street dances, live entertainment, exhibits and contests.

And yes, when a festival celebrates sweet potatoes, you can expect a few yam-themed traditions too.

Because activities take place across several days, check the official schedule before you go so you can decide which events you most want to see.

Texas Rose Festival in Tyler

Dates: October 15–18, 2026
Location: Tyler

Fall in Tyler wouldn’t be complete without the Texas Rose Festival.

This longtime Tyler tradition celebrates the city’s connection to the rose-growing industry with several days of special events.

Festival traditions include the Queen’s Coronation, Rose Presentation, Queen’s Tea and the popular Rose Parade.

This festival has a completely different feel from a pumpkin patch or county fair.

It combines Tyler history, elaborate floral displays, pageantry and community tradition.

Some festival events require tickets, so check the current schedule before deciding which activities you want to attend.

NatureFest at Mineola Nature Preserve

Dates: October 16–17, 2026
Location: Mineola Nature Preserve
Admission: Free

If your family would rather explore the outdoors than ride carnival rides, put NatureFest on your list.

NatureFest is a family-friendly event at the Mineola Nature Preserve featuring wildlife, nature activities, interactive booths, vendors and outdoor experiences.

Activities may include live animals, wildlife presentations, educational exhibits and outdoor activities.

The setting at the Mineola Nature Preserve also makes it easy to spend more time exploring once you’ve checked out the festival.

Hot Pepper Festival in Palestine

Dates: October 30–31, 2026
Location: Downtown Palestine

Palestine’s Hot Pepper Festival brings a little heat to the end of October.

The festival takes place in historic downtown Palestine and features vendors, handmade goods, food, live entertainment, community activities and plenty of pepper-themed fun.

One of the festival’s most memorable traditions is the Pepper Eating Contest.

Palestine is especially fun during fall, so consider making this more than just a festival stop.

Downtown shopping, local restaurants and the surrounding Piney Woods can easily turn the trip into a full day or weekend getaway.

Heritage Syrup Festival in Henderson

Date: November 14, 2026
Time: 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
Location: Historic Downtown Henderson and Depot Museum

Don’t put away your fall calendar when October ends.

The Heritage Syrup Festival in Henderson is held in November and is one of the more distinctive fall events in East Texas.

One of the highlights is an old-fashioned ribbon cane syrup-making demonstration using antique equipment.

Visitors may also see demonstrations of traditional skills and crafts such as blacksmithing, quilting, basket making, wood carving and rope making.

The celebration extends into historic downtown Henderson with arts and crafts vendors, East Texas food, music, activities and plenty to explore.

If you enjoy East Texas history and old-fashioned small-town festivals, this one deserves a spot on your fall calendar.

  • Local boutiques and antique stores
  • East Texas wineries
  • State parks and nature preserves
  • Downtown restaurants
