Crystal Beach & Galveston Texas Vacation
Have you ever been to Crystal Beach and Galveston Texas?
I can’t believe I was born and raised here in Texas and I am over 50 but had never been to this part of the Gulf until this year, 2022.
When some of my karaoke family asked a few a few of us to team up and go and rent a beach house, I was so excited.
It was something we started planning five months in advance.
I had always wanted to go as it was something on my bucket list. Now I can mark that one off. I am hoping that a bunch of us can do it again next year, or take a cruise (which is something else on my bucket list).

Crystal Beach Texas – Beach House
The beach house that my friend chose for us to stay in for the week. was so beautiful. It has an elevator, two large refrigerators and an ice machine.
The elevator was a big plus considering having to carry all of our things up and down the stairs would had been awful, we are all over 40 so we needed that, ha!
If you would like to see more about the house we stayed in, go check out The Ritz over at Cobb Real Estate.

I snapped a quick photo of the room that I stayed in, I call it the “Flip Flop Room” because ther were everywhere in the room.

Before heading back down stairs to have a drink and play games with my friends, I ran out on the third floor balcony outside of my room to snap this beautiful photo of this cloudy sunset.
All of those lights out over the water are ships.
Games That I Recommend Playing
- Sequence – A friend made his own board and taught us how to play. It was so addicting, we played every night..
- Left Right Center Dice Game
- This was another game that my friend taught us, ours was a little different, it included quarters. Very addicting.

There was a lake near our beach house that, of course connects to the gulf through a canal.
Some of the guys caught large red drum fish and a blue crab that put up a fight.

There was also this alligator nearby, he never bothered us, just wanted a fish from our line. He followed every cast that was made.

Oh and here is me, so excited that we found a place to go sing karaoke on our second day there.
We are a karaoke family, so we were definitely looking.

Galveston Texas
On the third day that we were there, we decided to hop on the Ferry and head over to Galveston and do a little shopping and sight seeing on The Strand.

So many ships coming and going, day and night.

We sure couldn’t pass up the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. It was hot out and after all the walking we needed a beverage and some ice cream.

As we were passing by, one of the Cruise ships was leaving out. I am hoping to take a cruise soon and travel and see other places from Galveston, I hear it’s a lot of fun.

Beach Time – Treasure Hunting
One of the ladies goes to this beach almost every year and she collects unique shells and sea glass. I was intrigued with what she does with her sea glass.
Almost everyday we were there, we set out to hunt for these little treasures

My husband and one of the other guys not only fished almost everyday in the lake by the beach house but also set out to fish in the gulf the day before we left.
They caught mostly baby sharks, but also a couple of saltwater catfish. See them out there in the photo below?
They asked if I wanted to go out and fish but once I saw the baby shark, I passed.

Crystal Beach Texas Sunsets
Being the hobby photographer that I am and taking sunset photos is one of my favorite. I just has to snap one each night that I was there.

Bye, Until Next Time!
I, as well as the others, really hated to leave. The weather was perfect and it was so beautiful and relaxing. I will definitely be going to Crystal Beach and Galveston again.
