DIY Dollar Tree 3 Tier Tray for Texas Style Decor

If you love decorating on a budget, a DIY Dollar Tree 3 tier tray is an easy way to add charm to your home without spending much at all. This simple project fits perfectly into a Texas Lifestyle blog because it blends affordable decorating, rustic style, and everyday farmhouse charm. Whether you want to dress up your kitchen, coffee bar, dining table, or entryway, a 3 tier tray can become a beautiful display for every season.

One of the best things about making a Dollar Tree 3 tier tray is how easy it is to customize. You can create a look that feels rustic, farmhouse, western, or even a little vintage Texas. With a few affordable supplies like pans, candlesticks, glue, and paint, you can turn basic Dollar Tree items into something that looks much more expensive. Add touches like burlap, black and white checks, mini mason jars, greenery, or small seasonal signs to give it that warm Texas home feel.

Supplies - Dollar Tree 3 Tier Tray

  • 1 Pizza Pan
  • 1 Pie Pan
  • 1 Cake Pan
  • 2 Candle Sticks ( I used a rolling pin because I already had it and my DT's were out of candle sticks at the time.
  • Chalk Paint I already had on hand or you can leave them plain.
  • Glue, I used Gorilla glue that I already hand on hand
  • Decorations of choice, I will need to add more to this display (I will be changing mine out my season/holiday)

Gorilla Glue vs E6000

Is E6000 stronger than Gorilla Glue? According to our calculations, polyurethane Gorilla adhesive is a bit stronger, than E6000.

Epoxy glue that belongs to Gorilla adhesives range, is even more durable.

Glue options: You can use hot glue, E6000, gorilla glue or any other that you might have on hand.

I actually prefer to use E6000 for most of my crafts.

I have many types of glue in my craft room but for this diy, I preferred to use gorilla glue at this time because it's quick drying just like hot glue but didn't want the messiness of hot glue at the time.

Dollar Tree 3 Tier Tray

I just cut the rolling pin in half and painted them with Waverly Chalk paint, this type of chalk paint is my favorite and the most affordable that I have found.

My favorite chalk paint to use when doing my crafts is the brand Waverly, can be picked up pretty cheap at Walmart.

After I painted each side of the pans and let them dry, I used a small piece of sand paper to give it the distressed look, which I love.

I made another one without painting it to use on my coffee bar (pic below).

The cup on top is a little metal cup that is holding little sugar packs.

Also, I didn't use a pizza pan on the one below, I used 2 pie pans and 1 cake pan.

My coffee bar is in a small space and the pizza pan was to big to fit along side the coffee maker.

  1. I absolutely love your 3 tier trays! Especially the one for the coffee bar! Great work!

    1. Thank you so much Susie! That one is my favorite too

  2. Love the 3 tierd tray. So you do not have to seal the chalk paint?
    Thanks

    1. You can but I didn't (didn't even think about it really). Glad you like it 🙂

  3. I absolutely love the rolling pin idea! It makes it so much more unique ❤️

    1. Yes, thank you, I thought the same thing. I tried finding rolling pins at DT but guess they are always sold out, I'd rather use them instead of the candle holders.

  4. I cannot find the candle sticks anywhere either so I love the rolling pin idea. Also thinking of looking at Lowe’s or Home Depot for ideas. Did you cut the rolling pin in different lengths?

    1. Yea, the candle sticks are hard to find as they sell out fast for some reason. I like the rolling pin better anyways too. I cut the rolling pin evenly but you can make each piece different lengths if yo want.

  5. If you can find bread pans of different sizes, it would make a unique 3 tier decor and would fit in a smaller space like your coffee bar. I'm going on a quest for those to sit by my Kuerig with a few favorite pods and creamer packets and maybe a handful of stirs.

Also you can substitute a dowel rod and a larger drawer or door knob on the top for the handle.

    1. I really love that idea for my coffee bar, thank you. I think I will try and make one 🙂
